If you are pregnant and considering an abortion, RealOptions Obria Medical Clinics wants to help you make an informed choice that is best for your health and well-being. We provide compassionate, confidential care; medical information about all your options; and non-judgmental support no matter what you decide to do about your pregnancy.

Be Sure You Are Pregnant

Before an abortion we recommend a pre-abortion screening. A viable pregnancy can be confirmed through a lab grade pregnancy test and an ultrasound. Statistically, one in four pregnancies within the first trimester may not be viable and may end in a natural miscarriage.

An ultrasound will provide evidence-based confirmation and dating of your pregnancy. There are medication and surgical abortion procedures. The type of abortion procedure depends on factors such as how far along you are in your pregnancy.

Our pre-abortion screening services may include:

  • Pregnancy Decision Consultation
  • Lab-grade urine pregnancy test
  • Ultrasound exam if test is positive
  • Pregnancy test verification
  • STD Testing and Treatment

Some doctors or other clinics require pregnancy verification before allowing you to make an appointment with them regarding your pregnancy. This pregnancy verification is the official document that serves as the proof of pregnancy for insurance companies, community agencies that provide services like the W.I.C. program, and will be needed if you obtain an abortion near Newark. Please note that we do not provide abortion services at our clinics.  Click Here For Medi-Cal Forms. Click Here For WIC Forms.

We recommend that you also be tested for Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs).  It is very important that an infection  is treated before an abortion to prevent the spread of infection during the abortion procedure.

We are here to help you understand all your options so that you can make an informed decision. If you are concerned about your financial ability to pay for a service, you may be eligible for a state-funded financial aid program that would provide services for you at no cost near Newark.

Welcome to Newark: Officially opened to the public on July 28, 1985, the entire park includes a farm, a large forest and a mansion now called the Patterson House which was first constructed in 1857 by the farm's original owner, George Washington Patterson.

Patterson called his estate "Newark", after the forested area in England mentioned in Shakespeare's play, As You Like It. There were two subsequent additions to the house. The largest was in 1889 when Patterson and his wife Clara added the Queen Anne Victorian section to the House. The second addition came in 1915 when Patterson's son Henry and his wife remodeled the old farm house section, and added rooms including the kitchen, a large bedroom above the kitchen, the sun porch, nursery, and a bathroom with indoor plumbing.
